OSMEL AZCUY

Osmel Portuondo Azcuy, born in Havana, Cuba in 1985, is a multifaceted artist. He seeks to represent the daily events of his city and its inhabitants, creating a mosaic of deeply personal and collective experiences in the process. Osmel's deep interest in photography was inherited from his grandfather, a professional photographer, and was solidified in the moments shared in the darkroom of his home. The camera became his tool to create social chronicles that navigate the space between private and collective stories.
